Please click on the category text links below, and you will find all kinds of different patterns you can use to Make Your Own Window Clings.
Easy Steps
To trace patterns, there are two methods:
First method: Place pattern underneath Vinyl Cling Sheet (simply lift the vinyl off the white cardboard) Trace pattern with Marabu Fun & Fancy Outline paint
Second method: Place pattern inside an ordinary page protector. Trace pattern with Marabu Fun & Fancy Outline paint
For both methods,
allow to dry for 1-2 hours.
Fill the outlines with Marabu Fun & Fancy Window Colors, making sure that the paint touches the outline, by pushing the paint against the raised Outline with your Fine Liner Tool.
It should look like it's a little too much, without going over the outline.
Allow your window cling to dry for at least 24 hours (a little longer in humidity).
Very Important!!
Do NOT shake paint bottles, as this will produce excess bubbles
.
For special effects, blend colors gently with your Fine Liner or Blending Tool, while paint is still wet. To pop bubbles, gently touch with a needle, while window cling is still wet.
Once completely dry (after approx. 24 hours):
If you used a Vinyl Cling Sheet, you may then cut out your finished window cling, and attach it to any glass surface. Stick the vinyl side against the window for easy removal. Be sure your window or glass surface is completely clean (wash with vinegar rather than glass cleaner, as glass cleaner leaves residue). Should your window cling curl at the corners after some time, simply dampen the vinyl with a cloth...it should now stick just fine.
If you used a page protector, gently peel finished window cling off and affix to window, mirror, or any shiny surface. Be sure to never let the painted side touch paper or cardboard, as it will bond with dried window clings, permanently.
It is so fun and easy to learn how to make your own window clings. This is a great craft for all ages, children to seniors. For very young children we recommend doing the outline for them first, and then allow them to fill in the colors.
This paint is of very high quality, and yet quite affordable. It is a little thinner, and therefore spreads easier than Plaid Gallery Glass paint, but at the same time, it's not runny. You therefore get much more mileage out of Marabu Fun & Fancy than you would with Gallery Glass. The colors look milky at first, and then turn brilliantly transparent as they dry.
Your window clings may be used over and over. They will retain their flexibility and brilliance for a very long time.
You might want to read our easy- to- follow and very detailed Instruction Booklet which has tons of tips and tricks, not to mention pull-out window cling patterns for you. Although it is very easy to learn, it really helps to know all the ins and outs about it.
Once you try this fun craft for yourself, and see how much joy and satisfaction it brings, you'll want to make window clings over and over, whether by yourself, with friends or with your children and grandchildren.

Only move your window clings in medium temperatures...if it's too warm, they will feel soft and will tear, if it's too cold, they will be hard and will snap.
When left alone in adverse temperatures, the window clings will be like new when the temperature
returns to normal. You may leave your window clings on windows in the winter time, and remove them once your windows warm up again.
For seasonal themes, you may store window clings in page protectors when not in use.
